With all this craziness still going on about SpongeBob Squarepants, even after 10 years (yes – its really been that long), its almost a duty to show off SpongeBob computer gadgets. Well, for us xx-year old kids anyway. Either because we want to keep up with the real kids and impress them as being hip, or because we want to annoy the heck out of our co-workers. Let’s see what we can fish out of bikini bottom!
Not much of a surprise, we first have the SpongeBob flash drive dangling from the pole (more like a carrying strap ):
With up to 64GB, this sponge on a stick can soak up a lot of files and definitely wears the pants. It doesn’t wear a cap though as the USB plug is rotative, controlled by a very cool spinning button. And the drive itself can be spun too, so be careful not to get hypnotized.
The SpongBob flash drive is square as it should be and shows either a smiling or laughing face. It can be set with password protection, partitioning and even as a booting disk. An LED on the side indicates whether Squarepants is busy turning data patties or sleeping in his pineapple. And for the fast talker SpongBob is, the higher capacity models can wring out a transfer speed of unreachable-for-Gary-the-Snail 35MB/s. That’s pretty amazing for any USB memory – but hey, Squarepants is known for breaking records (and other things for that matter).
You may also be lucky and find SpongeBob flash drives with custom labels:
But wait…
…where’s Patrick?
Oh, here he is!
Unfortunately this Patrick flash drive isn’t distributed and is “only” the ingenious work of gadget hacker Alan Parekh. Barnacles!
What is being marketed however are various other SpongeBob computer items. Such as…
…digital cameras…
…SpongeBob mousepads…
…with the appropriate mouse…
…and of course, PC games:
The biggest catch however is the actual SpongeBob computer:
Actually it’s a learning laptop that teaches words, spelling, maths etc. in a really fun way. Best of all, it features SpongeBob’s real voice. And how’s that for a mouse – a Krabby Patty burger!
However, if you want a “real” SpongeBob computer you can easily make one yourself. All you need is…
…a SpongeBob laptop skin…
…matching keyboard stickers…
…or the SpongeBob keyboard itself.
And to square it all up you can make it portable with a SpongeBob laptop carry case!
Say what you will, but with all these cool SpongeBob computer gadgets there is no excuse for a gray and boring office room. So let’s bring on the party and no Squidward or Plankton will be able to spoil it!
